We're seeking a Manufacturing Process Specialist to join one of our top clients in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry in Gurabo, PR. Job Summary The Manufacturing Process Specialist is responsible for driving significant improvements in Operations by applying best practices and methodologies, Process Excellence tools, and Key Performance Indicators. This role leads, plans, and executes projects, coaches team members, and fosters a continuous improvement and lean culture. Collaborating with support teams and transactional areas, you'll help reduce cost and inventory, optimize flow to align with customer demand, and work alongside Business Excellence to create and maintain Value Stream Maps (VSM). You'll also be part of prioritizing and tracking project progress, providing Process Excellence training, supporting certification, and promoting people engagement. As a change management agent, you'll implement new corporate initiatives using tools such as dashboards, scorecards, and visual factory displays. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for continuous improvement and transformational project planning, development, and implementation using Process Excellence tools.
- Define strategies for product cost optimization, including waste reduction, changeover/cycle time reduction, and product flow streamlining; research new technologies for application.
- Perform assignments with clear objectives, investigating a limited number of variables.
- Meet with stakeholders to convert business needs into actionable project cases aligned with strategy.
- Prepare and submit required documentation (Project Proposal, Project Brief) to initiate projects.
- Identify key resources (internal/external), assemble project teams, and facilitate activities for project completion; track milestones to ensure timely delivery.
- Communicate project scope and plans to Operations.
- Support technical documentation related to projects, including strategic plans, protocols, and reports.
- Collaborate with Business Excellence to develop and maintain end-to-end Value Stream Maps (VSM) for the Parenteral platform.
- Cultivate a continuous improvement environment via Kaizen teams, idea generation, Process Excellence certification, and related activities.
- Maintain site/area metrics, dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports.
- Support initiatives to enhance organizational competitiveness and provide statistical analysis for process improvements.
- Coordinate Gemba walks, track actions, and report progress.
- Support Managers and Supervisors in daily process activities.
- Document all work activities accurately in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Follow Global Leadership Profile competencies and observe all company policies and compliance areas at all times (Safety, Environmental, Quality, etc.).
- Report any deviations or violations to supervisor or compliance officer.
- Support ISO 14001 Team and Environmental Management System Coordinator for training and continuous improvement.
- Attend education and training programs; notify supervisor if more training is needed.
- Participate in projects, programs, committees, and special activities aligned with company goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Pharmacy, Engineering, or related field required.
- 0 – 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry performing scientific, manufacturing, and/or Project Management activities.
