Job Posting: Manufacturing Operator II (Machine Operator II)
Location: Asheville, NC (Closer to Weaverville)
Shift: 3rd Shift - 10 PM to 6:30 AM
Salary: $22.34 per hour
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Operator II thrives on challenge and continually seeks opportunities to learn and grow. In this role, you will perform machine operation and integration according to the production schedule while ensuring that safety and quality standards are maintained. You will also provide effective training to other Machine Operators and personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret drawings along with conducting visual inspections of sheet metal products.
- Flex and cross-train to be effective as part of a team.
- Participate in resolving production challenges and making process decisions.
- Assist in the selection and set-up of specialized equipment.
- Troubleshoot various issues to identify and resolve problems.
- Perform equipment set-up, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
- Operate Press Brake equipment, CNC punch presses, Fiber Optic lasers, and Haeger Pem Machines.
- Follow all audit and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-6 months of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience. Background in precision mechanical operation and low-volume, complex manufacturing processes preferred. Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement is a plus.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven track record of successfully working in a team of 8-10 colleagues.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
- Proficient in running various CNC equipment.
- Ability to read tape measures, calipers, or other measuring devices.
- Familiarity with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
- Strong problem-solving abilities, both independently and collaboratively.
- Self-motivated and organized with the ability to lift 35 lbs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with colleagues of varying cultural and educational backgrounds.
