Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Specialist
Location: Auxvasse, MO 65231
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Flexible Start: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm or 7:00 am – 4:00 pm)
Pay Rate: $24 – $26 per hour
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Team Size: 3 (collaborating with two routine team members; manager based in Canada)

Position Summary The Shipping/Receiving Specialist serves as the primary lead for site packaging and shipping requirements, ensuring all shipments adhere to local, state, federal, and international laws. This role is critical for maintaining the chain of custody, managing regulatory permits, monitoring shipments, and delivering exceptional service to both internal and external clients. The Specialist will use advanced knowledge of shipping and receiving protocols within a highly regulated, scientific environment and play a vital role in inventory management and documentation. Key Responsibilities

  • Package and ship according to IATA, local, state, federal, and international guidelines, ensuring compliance with all permit and licensing requirements.
  • Maintain and monitor the chain of custody for all inbound and outbound shipments, addressing issues quickly during transit or regulatory inspections.
  • Schedule and track shipments for internal and external clients, using Excel for data entry, tracking, and documentation. (Experience with formulas and VLOOKUP is a plus; Workday and SAP experience preferred.)
  • Ensure cold/cool chain is maintained for temperature-sensitive shipments.
  • Manage and verify permits for import/export of biological and chemical materials, complying with regulatory agencies such as CBP, USFWS, FDA, CDC, and USDA.
  • Produce Customs Invoices and shipping documentation for international shipments; working knowledge of tariff classifications and product valuation preferred.
  • Handle equipment calibration and qualification for shipping supplies as per procedures.
  • Operate warehouse-related equipment, including pallet jacks, mechanical lifts, and hand trucks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and stock levels of shipping supplies.
  • Coordinate and liaise with couriers, freight forwarders, and integrators as necessary.
  • Assist with Clinical Kit distribution as required.
  • Perform data entry and inventory management for all shipment records.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces, follow all safety protocols, and participate in general housekeeping duties.
  • Recommend improvements in systems, processes, and technologies to enhance productivity.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills with internal and external clients.
  • Regularly move within the workspace, handle packages (up to 50 lbs), and operate computers and office equipment.
  • Ensure personal safety protocols are consistently followed, including adaptability to an environment where animal testing is conducted.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Multiple years of experience in international shipping, ideally in healthcare logistics, pharmaceutical, or specialist freight forwarding environment.
  • Familiarity with GxP compliance and temperature-sensitive materials shipping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas/VLOOKUP), email, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Workday and/or SAP is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • IATA/Dangerous Goods certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong attention to detail, expert multitasking skills, and advanced organizational and communication abilities.
