Pay Rate:  
$40-45/hour

Overview:
In this role, you will work hands-on in the lab to process and prepare tissue samples, support daily histology workflows, and collaborate closely with a small scientific team.

Schedule: 
Monday-Friday, standard working hours
 
Responsibilities:

• Execute and continuously improve the histology tissue processing pipeline, receiving and handling mouse, rat, non-human primate (NHP), and human tissue samples.
• Perform high-volume FFPE and OCT tissue processing, embedding, and sectioning workflows.
• Operate laboratory equipment including microtome and cryostat instruments.
• Prepare slides for analysis, including H&E, PAS, and Trichrome stains.
• Accurately log and track all samples, maintaining detailed electronic lab notebook (ELN) documentation.
• Work closely with a team of scientists and research associates, regularly communicating workflow progress and troubleshooting issues.
• Flexibly adapt to evolving processes and project priorities in a dynamic, startup environment.
• Ensure slides are generated under RNase-free conditions.
• Adhere to established laboratory protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related field required.
• 1+ years of industry experience with histology. Strong understanding of histology industry workflows.
• Experience with FFPE and/or OCT processing, embedding, and sectioning.
• Experience with various tissue types, both animal and human.
• Familiarity with RNA/DNA sample prep and slide generation preferred.
