Full -Charge Bookkeeper
6+ month contract
Salary Range: 26-40/hr. depending on experience (requires prior experience with system implementations and process improvements)
100% Onsite – Jackson, MI

Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible within business hours)
40 hours per week / No - minimal overtime
Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage day?to?day financial tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and hands-on experience with QuickBooks. Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Enter payments and make deposit runs to the bank.
- Maintain customer records.
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
- Maintain vendor records and handle vendor inquiries.
- Prepare weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, or online bill payments).
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare journal entries for month-end close.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
- Assist with financial reporting and supporting schedules.
Payroll
- Process payroll accurately and on time through QuickBooks or integrated payroll system.
- Assist with annual audit and tax preparation.
- Maintain organized and complete financial records.
- Support the accounting team with ad-hoc analysis or projects.
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop or Online).
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger functions, and payroll processes.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel and general computer skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in a small-to-medium business environment.
- Familiarity with Hyperion (HFM).
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred but not required).
- On-site in Jackson, MI
- Standard business hours with some flexibility.
