Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Fire Assay Specialist for a Direct Hire, position at premier mining company in Englewood, CO. Pay Rate: $30-35/hr

Overview: The Fire Assay Specialist works with the lab manager and engineering staff to provide accurate and timely gold analysis for samples including geological and process products.

Schedule: M-F 1st Shift, 9/80 Schedule

Responsibilities:

• Mix dry chemicals used for fluxing, including lead oxide
• Weighing and mixing samples
• Loading furnaces, pouring fusions, and cupelling buttons
• Weighing dores and prills
• Parting dores
• Operating flame AA instrumentation for analysis of gold in solutions
• Other duties and responsibilities, as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• 2 years of experience in a related field; Demonstrated experience in performing fire assay procedures both in the furnace room and wet chemistry operations

• Understanding of math, chemistry and safety considerations pertinent to fire assay
• Able to work safely with hazardous chemicals & Strong adherence to safety protocols
• Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as work effectively as a team member
• Associates or bachelor's degree in science related field preferred
