Finance Associate I – Shoreview, MN
Pay Rate: $25.90 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (training will be 100% onsite, Hybrid upon completion of training, Remote Mondays and Fridays, in-office presence required Tuesday through Thursday.)
Position Summary:
The Finance Associate I is responsible for coordinating and reviewing reports, supporting various accounting and financial processes, and providing assistance to both internal and external customers. This role requires analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping and be comfortable navigating complex financial systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee aspects of accounting and finance operations or subsystems.
- Analyze financial data for management reporting, forecasting, and planning.
- Prepare journal entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
- Perform account reconciliations as part of the monthly and annual close process.
- Review and verify purchase orders for accuracy in amounts and quantities.
- Analyze order management notes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Support daily financial processes including purchase requisitions, invoice reconciliation, supplier payments, check requests, and budget inquiries.
- Educate customers on the accounting aspects of operations and subsystems.
- Respond to routine and complex customer inquiries and support financial process improvements as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including use of formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
- Experience with accounting software (Oracle preferred).
- 1+ years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with multiple teams.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate financial systems and troubleshoot issues.
- Reliable and professional work-from-home setup for hybrid work; strong computer proficiency.
- Initial training and onboarding (first couple of weeks) will require 100% onsite attendance.
- This position will not transition to fully remote—applicants must be able to commute to the Shoreview, MN office for required in-person work.
