Cotton Gin Worker – Statesboro, GA (Seasonal)
Location: Statesboro, GA
Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM to start; will transition to 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 7 days a week
Duration: Seasonal position lasting 8–12 weeks
Job Summary:
Kelly Services is seeking motivated Cotton Gin Workers for a seasonal opportunity at a well-established facility in Statesboro, GA. This hands-on role involves operating machinery and performing manual labor to process raw cotton, from unloading cotton modules to preparing finished bales for transport. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy physical work, this is the perfect opportunity to join our team for the cotton harvest season! Typical Duties:

  • Equipment Operation: Operate gin machinery, module feeders, bale baggers, and forklifts to move cotton and bales.
  • Processing Cotton: Feed raw cotton into the gin, unwrap/un-tarp modules, and process finished bales.
  • Maintenance & Housekeeping: Perform basic maintenance, clear blockages, sweep floors, remove trash, and maintain facility cleanliness.
  • Baling & Loading: Tie, tag, and bag processed cotton bales; assist with loading for transport.
  • Safety & Quality: Adhere to safety protocols, conduct safety checks, and ensure the quality of processed cotton.
  • General Labor: Perform various labor tasks including transporting cotton on the yard, raking loose cotton, and other duties as directed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Heavy Lifting: Ability to lift and carry heavy items, including cotton bales up to 500 pounds.
  • Repetitive Movements: Stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Hot Environments: Work in hot, humid weather conditions for long hours.
  • Agility: Ability to walk, reach, bend, stoop, and climb ladders as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Prior experience operating farm equipment or forklifts is a plus.
  • Physical Fitness: Must meet the physical demands of the job, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
  • Work Ethic: Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and willingness to collaborate with team members.
  • Adherence to Rules: Must follow all safety guidelines, employer policies, and quality specifications, including reliable attendance.
