Switz City, Worthington, IN 47465, USA
Positions Available: 10
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr (No shift differential)
Schedule: 3 x 12-hour days + 1 x 6-hour day weekly (42 hrs/week)
Start Day: Sunday
Shift Options:

  • Front Half: Sun–Tue 6:00 AM–6:30 PM & Wed 6:00 AM–12:00 PM
  • Back Half: Wed 12:00 PM–6:00 PM & Thu–Sat 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
About the Role:
As a Corn Sorter, you'll be a vital part of the harvest season team, supporting high standards for product quality and safety in a fast-paced agricultural production environment. The role is hands-on, and safety is always the top priority.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Sort corn ears, removing discard and ensuring only quality seed moves forward in the process.
  • Identify and separate off-type, wet, moldy, or damaged corn, husk ribbons, rogue ears, crop debris, and other waste.
  • Return cobs needing re-husking to the appropriate station.
  • Work at a moving conveyor from a standing or seated (elevated) position for your entire shift.
  • Keep the workspace clean and organized—sweeping, removing debris, and maintaining breakroom standards.
  • Use proper PPE (provided) and follow all company safety policies, including lockout/tagout and equipment procedures.
  • Communicate safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
  • Participate in accident or incident investigations as needed.
  • Assist with kernel cleaning during material switchovers.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and walk up/down stairs.
  • Fast, repetitive hand use; ability to manage exposure to corn dust/allergens.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be able to work in a smoke-free, allergy-sensitive environment.
  • Airborne allergen exposure; those with severe allergies should consider this before applying.
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
Dress Code & Equipment:
  • Long pants, closed toe/heel shoes, and shirt covering shoulders required.
  • Safety glasses (provided), gloves (provided), and PPE are mandatory.
  • No loose clothing, food, or drink in work areas.
  • No mobile phone or electronic devices in work areas.
Other Details:
  • Resume not required, but preferred.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Position is on-site only; no remote work. Candidates may come from any location but must report on-site.
  • No driving is required as part of the job.
  • All required screenings must be clear before beginning work.
  • This position is supplemental to regular staff for the harvest season.
