CNC Machine Operators - CNC Machinist
Location: LaVergne, TN
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3PM - 11PM (Training on first shift)
Position Type: Onsite
Pay: $22-26/hr. Job Overview
A leading manufacturing client in LaVergne, TN is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate and maintain 3- and 4-axis periphery grinding machines. In this role, you will produce high-quality precision inserts in accordance with blueprint specifications, production targets, and safety procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multiple CNC periphery grinding machines, including but not limited to Dom, Wendt, Combi, Leo, and Penta models.
- Properly orient inserts prior to grinding; load/unload inserts across multiple machines efficiently and safely.
- Accurately measure and gauge inserts, verify dimensions, and inspect for surface and edge quality.
- Record inspection results and maintain production documentation.
- Place finished and in-process inserts into appropriate racks.
- Demonstrate a consistent commitment to safety, following all policies and wearing required PPE.
- Communicate safety, quality, or production issues promptly with supervisors and team members.
- Maintain accurate records for both scrap and conforming products, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Achieve daily production targets and support a reliable production environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior CNC grinding experience required.
- Basic math, communication, and problem-solving skills required.
- Clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing setting with dust collection systems.
- PPE: must wear safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes, and cut-resistant gloves when applicable.
- Ability to stand for up to eight hours per shift with regular breaks.
- Frequent walking, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 33 pounds.
- Execute production orders to meet deadlines and escalate delays or issues as needed.
- Inspect and adjust tooling to maintain process standards.
- Collaborate with technical experts for complex issues and seek supervisor input as appropriate.
