Reports To: Production Supervisor Position Summary:
The Clean Room Assembler I is responsible for assembling and testing company products in a clean room environment. The position may specialize in particular products or processes and requires adherence to all work area processes and procedures. The role involves utilizing hand tools, small power equipment, and other specialized equipment/fixtures, alongside performing physical inventory and data entry tasks accurately and timely. Key Responsibilities:
- Product Assembly: Assemble a wide range of products using drawings, work instructions, and tests to meet performance specifications.
- Material Handling: Perform material handling, receiving, and stocking of materials. Coordinate with sales for material requirements.
- Quality Inspection: Inspect items using microscopes to ensure high-quality standards. Adhere to product quality standards and standard operating procedures.
- Inventory Management: Utilize the inventory management system (Kanban), conduct cycle counting, and manage physical inventory.
- Equipment Operation: Set up and operate various equipment required for product assembly and testing.
- Chemical Handling: Prepare and handle chemicals for use in the cleanroom.
- Clean Room Maintenance: Maintain clean room integrity by wearing proper attire and adhering to cleanroom environment practices and procedures.
- Team Support: Provide support and feedback to team leads and engineering. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by applying 80/20, PLS, and other principles and techniques.
- Documentation: Complete required documentation accurately and promptly.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety and health requirements and wear prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: At least one year of manufacturing experience is preferred; clean room experience is a plus.
- Skills:
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in inspecting and manipulating small, delicate items using various tools
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and practices
- Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office products
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving, multi-tasking, and teamwork skills
- Good decision-making abilities
- Ability to maintain high productivity in repetitive tasks within a fast-paced environment
- Required to frequently (34-66%) twist/turn, reach outward, sit, handle/manipulate items, stand, and walk.
- Occasionally (1-33%) required to climb, crawl, reach above shoulder level, squat, and type.
- Must be able to carry up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to push and pull up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus.
- Frequent exposure to induction machines that can interfere with electromagnetic devices such as pacemakers.
