Description

Position: Claim Operations Specialist

Location: 100% Onsite at Hartford, CT

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Contract Type: W2 through Staffing Supplier

Pay Rate: $15-19.15 per hour

 

Job Summary:

Under moderate supervision, you will partner with claim professionals to assist customers. Your responsibilities will include building customer relationships, completing financial transactions, updating and managing important business information, and handling various other duties and projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement:

  • Serve as a customer service representative in the claim department.
  • Address customer questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Triage and route callers to appropriate departments.
  • Answer claim status and payment inquiries.

Claim Operational Service and Partnerships:

  • Partner with claim professionals across departments to ensure timely claim resolutions.
  • Document claim files accurately, including notes and diaries.
  • Request, review, and manage reports, records, medical bills, mail, and wage statements.
  • Prepare claim documents for legal and medical reviews.
  • Handle mail sorting, scanning, uploading, and processing.
  • Manage supply and equipment orders.

Claim Payments and Expense Processing:

  • Process and issue claim payments, including outside vendor invoices, attorney expenses, and medical fees.
  • Handle returned, voided checks, and credits.
  • Ensure timely and accurate check processing.

Data and Information Management:

  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports using efficient technology.
  • Manage data discrepancies and prepare operational reports for claim professionals and managers.
  • Document pending and completed work activities accurately.

Financial Controls and Assessments:

  • Assist with financial standards and controls at the claim center.
  • Communicate findings effectively and assess data discrepancies.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of financial controls and prepare data entries following established standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proficiency in computer technology, including Microsoft Office, e-mail, web applications, and database software.
  • Strong accountability, analytical thinking, change management, communication skills, judgment/decision-making, and relationship management abilities.
