Description

Job Title: Chemist II – Quality Control / Analytical

Summary:
Seeking a Chemist II with 3–5 years of industry experience and a degree in chemical or biological sciences to support quality control operations in a regulated, cGMP-compliant environment. The role involves performing analytical testing, method development, and validation, ensuring accuracy, precision, and compliance with applicable pharmacopeia standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in the laboratory.

Work Schedule:
1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 am – 7:30 pm

Location: Miami, FL
Salary: $60,000-$75,000/year

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological Sciences

  • 3–5 years of industry experience; experience in regulated/cGMP environments preferred

  • Knowledge of SCM concepts and principles

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills

  • Proficiency with laboratory computer applications

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine QC testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products

  • Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents

  • Evaluate and develop methods and instrument operations; participate in method validation

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical testing according to USP/NF, EP, BP, JP, or other standard methods

  • Review and analyze test results for reliability and compliance

  • Operate laboratory equipment including HPLC, GC, UV, IR, pH meters, analytical balances, dissolution and disintegration apparatus

  • Issue Certificates of Analysis for assigned products

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records following cGMP and SOPs

  • Conduct investigations of OOS or unexpected results

  • Assist in training new laboratory personnel and maintaining a clean, organized lab

  • Perform other QC duties as assigned by management
