Job Title: Cash Applications Specialist/Accounts Receivable 
Location: Chesterfield, MO
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Onsite)
Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire

About the Role

Kelly Services is partnering with a leading company in Chesterfield, MO to hire a Cash Applications Specialist. In this role, you'll play a key part in the accounting team by ensuring customer payments are applied quickly, accurately, and in compliance with company policies. Your work will directly support the integrity of the company's financial records and strengthen customer relationships.

What You'll Do
  • Process daily payment batches and resolve exceptions using company AR software (SAP).

  • Accurately apply non–point-of-sale credit card transactions based on customer requirements.

  • Review and post AR journal entries, including customer refunds submitted by finance staff.

  • Handle workflow requests related to account adjustments, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines.

  • Research and resolve rejected electronic payments and post corrections as needed.

  • Monitor the shared inbox for internal customer requests; provide responses, research solutions, or escalate appropriately.

  • Reconcile lockbox deposits and clear deductions related to product certificates or cash discounts.

  • Partner with team members to identify and implement process improvements.

What We're Looking For
  • At least 1 year of cash applications, AR, or accounting support experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field preferred.

  • Familiarity with SAP and strong Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Solid understanding of debits, credits, and AR processes.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently and collaborate with a team.

  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and problem-solving ability.
