Job Type: Temporary (6-Month Assignment)
Location: South Deerfield, MA
Pay Rate: $27 – $32 per hour (based on experience)
Industry: Manufacturing About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join the Sourcing team on a temporary 6-month assignment based in South Deerfield, MA. In this role, you will support procurement operations by purchasing materials and supplies to meet monthly production requirements, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining accurate data within the ERP system.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with procurement experience who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate purchases of materials and supplies in accordance with approved requisitions, ERP data, and management directives.
  • Maintain ERP system data for new vendors and products.
  • Place and monitor orders with vendors; expedite deliveries as needed.
  • Issue RFQs (Requests for Quotes) and analyze quotations for management review.
  • Reconcile inventory and invoices to resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate vendor shipments to support monthly production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Uphold ethical purchasing practices and follow company policies and safety procedures.
  • Assist other buyers and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of experience in an office or administrative setting.
  • Strong analytical and math skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional phone etiquette.
  • General knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; good typing abilities.
  • Reliable self-starter with strong decision-making skills.
  • Must be eligible to receive ITAR and CUI-controlled information (U.S. person status required).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or 1–3 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or sourcing.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and contract negotiations.
Additional Information
  • Must be flexible with work hours, including potential evening and weekend overtime.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a commitment to quality and safety.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands/fingers.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 20 pounds occasionally.
