Job Title: Beer Quality Control Specialist

Location: Savannah, GA

Pay: $17/hr

Schedule: Monday to Friday, starting at 4:30 PM, for 8-10 hour shifts

Job Summary:
The Beer Quality Control Specialist is responsible for inspecting beer pallets for inaccuracies, making corrections, recording errors, and reporting to the Area Manager for accountability. This role requires assertiveness in identifying and addressing issues. The specialist handles materials according to company policies and procedures and is adaptable to performing additional functions such as inventory control, sales pickup, shipping & receiving, and returns. Maintaining safety, sanitation, and security within the logistics environment is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect beer pallets for inaccuracies and make necessary corrections.
  • Ensure loads are properly stacked, secured, and stable.
  • Keep detailed records to track in-house errors and monitor picker accuracy.
  • Perform and submit daily power equipment checklists to the appropriate manager.
  • Report any safety or mechanical issues with power equipment in writing.
  • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain the facility in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Assist in maintaining security within the logistics environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Six months of experience in a similar position preferred.
  • Experience in operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and other power equipment preferred.

Critical Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math computations.
  • Competence in using company technology and maintaining product knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of computerized handheld devices.
  • Skills in inventory and quality control.

Working Conditions:

  • Maintain proficiency and high job standards in a non-temperature-controlled environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and inclement weather.
  • Occasionally work in refrigerated areas.
  • Work in an environment with moderate noise levels and some dust and fumes from power equipment.

Physical Requirements and Essential Functions:

  • Regular, reliable attendance is required.
  • Ability to frequently operate pallet jacks or forklifts.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, lift, carry, and use hands and fingers.
  • Ability to stack, unstack, and relocate large amounts of product throughout the day.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (50-65 lbs), including some overhead lifting.
  • Specific vision abilities needed, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to judge distance.
