Position Title:  Associate Scientist , Preclinical Drug Development
Position Type: Contract-to-hire
Pay rate: $50-60 per hour.

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate/Scientist to join a dynamic startup. The successful candidate will have a BS/MS degree in a relevant field and 5 7 years of hands-on experience in protein biology and chemistry, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform, optimize, analyze and interpret data from protein binding and activity assays.
  • Follow established protocols, operating procedures, and laboratory best practices. Prepare and maintain accurate experimental records and documentation, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility.
  • Apply principles of Good Manufacturing Practice GMP and data integrity in all laboratory activities.
  • Support the writing of technical protocols, SOPs, and reports for internal and regulatory use. Work cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams to support drug discovery and development programs.

Qualifications:
  • BS/MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. 5 7 years of relevant hands-on research experience within the pharma/biopharma industry
  • Expertise in protein manipulation: expression, purification affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion , and characterization SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, mass spectrometry, etc. .
  • Experience supporting small molecule drug discovery programs.
  • Familiarity with basic GMP concepts, data integrity standards, and scientific writing of protocols or SOPs. Exposure to IND or regulatory document preparation is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex experimental challenges.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
