Description

Job Title: Assembly Specialist
Pay: $17-20 (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembler Associate to join their team. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals with electro/mechanical assembly experience who are comfortable working with soldering equipment, hand tools, and assembly documentation.

  • Perform small iron soldering (circuit board wiring, etc.)
  • Conduct resistance soldering (installing connectors, covering units, etc.)
  • Perform torch soldering (Propane/Mapp gas)
  • Handle coils (stripping, shaping, winding, etc.)
  • Complete electro/mechanical assembly according to written instructions and documentation
  • Assist other manufacturing departments as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and actively recommend safety improvements
  • Participate in required safety programs
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by supervision
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Electro/mechanical assembly experience
  • Strong manual dexterity with the ability to use assembly tooling consistently
  • Ability to lift and manipulate parts up to 20 pounds (seek assistance for heavier items)
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, checklists, procedures, and assembly drawings in English
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to sit at a workbench for long periods of time
  • Willingness to accept direction and constructive feedback
  • Regular and reliable attendance
Additional Preferred Skills
  • Experience measuring with steel rules and calipers (fractions and decimals)
  • Working knowledge of hand tools (wrenches, punches, files, pliers, deburring tools)
  • Familiarity with tooling such as taps, drills, burrs, and collets
  • Experience with arbor/punch presses, bench sanders, grinders, and hand-held sanders/grinders
  • Electronic/electrical training (BOCES or equivalent) is a plus
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to sit at a workbench for most of an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed 
  • Vision, hearing, and comprehension sufficient to safely perform assigned duties
  • Ability to recognize alarms, warning signals, and safety documentation
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.)
  • Work performed on-site at the company's manufacturing facility
