Salary Range: $90-120,000 dependent on experience
Metrology is an expert offering technical and engineering support to customers using our Client's Gear Measuring Machines (CMM-type equipment). The engineer will support the sales department with application verifications, demonstrations and promotion of our measuring capabilities. To penetrate new markets, the engineer will identify requirements to enable new measuring capabilities and work closely with the development team in Germany to realize them. The engineer will sometimes also assist the service department in troubleshooting issues.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Professionally represent our client and its products to customers in the field of metrology.
• Provide technical support and engineering assistance for our line of inspection machines.
• Demonstrates our measuring capabilities to existing and potential customers.
• Identify requirements and specifications for new development and measuring capabilities.
• Development of new measuring applications & procedures in close cooperation with the software design team
• Testing and validation studies of new development and/or special measuring applications
• Prepare reports, presentations and technical documentation on equipment and software functions such as instructions and operational procedures.
• Process customer's technical inquiries.
• Install, configure and test inspection software modules
• Train customers and service personnel to program and use our Client's measuring machines.
• Work in close collaboration with both sales (new machine projects) and service departments (troubleshooting of machine or software issues). Required Skills/Abilities:
• Experience in coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and ideally gear inspection.
• Communication and teamwork skills with service mentality and enjoyment of direct contact with customers
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T) specifications.
• Must have great analytical, problem-solving, and trouble shooting skills.
• Great computer skills required (software install, updates, troubleshooting).
• Ability to work systematically and independently.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Excel and Word.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Five years of related experience in metrology
• Exposure/experience in manufacturing and inspection of gear components.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
