As an Advanced Warehouse Operator, you will be responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment. Working under some supervision, you will follow established procedures to receive, handle, store, perform system transactions, and dispatch goods within a factory or warehouse. You will ensure incoming shipments are correctly received and inspected, perform sorting and labeling to optimize warehouse space, and accurately pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods in accordance with customer requirements.
You will be certified and experienced in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
- Immediately stop work and report any major injury hazards.
- Report work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards.
- Comply with all HSE standards, policies, and procedures; use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Promote a safe culture by correcting hazards and looking out for peers.
- Minimize environmental impact in daily work.
- Engage in and complete required HSE training.
- Follow standard work instructions, processes, and established quality procedures.
- Perform quality checks for damage and discrepancies between received goods and invoices.
- Identify and control non-conforming materials to minimize cost and quality exposures.
- Raise quality issues promptly for resolution.
- Receive incoming goods, accurately sort, label/package, and store items to optimize space.
- Operate manual and automated warehouse equipment, including forklifts.
- Pick, pack, and ship products to meet customer expectations and deadlines.
- Maintain high competency in performing core warehouse duties at the required cycle time.
- Communicate effectively with team members and support teams.
- Complete training as required and actively contribute to safety, quality, and process improvements.
- Help maintain a clean, orderly work area, including housekeeping and equipment care.
- Participate in routine operator care and maintenance.
- Remain flexible to perform other duties as needed to achieve business goals.
- Work collaboratively with peers, trades, and support staff to maintain and identify warehouse equipment needing repair.
- Sort and separate stock orders and prepare boxes for shipment.
- Ensure orders are routed correctly and all receiving/check-in processes are complete.
- Accurately monitor inventory levels and create purchase orders as required.
- Communicate with customers to answer questions and provide support.
- Load and unload delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain strong product, industry, and automotive field knowledge.
- Computer Savvy – Comfortable using warehouse management systems, spreadsheets, and digital inventory tools.
- Attention to Detail – Accurate order picking, inventory checks, and documentation.
- Multitask – Handle multiple assignments and shifting priorities without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
- Previous warehouse experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Valid forklift certification and experience operating warehouse machinery.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehousing.
- Experience with inventory control, shipping & receiving, and purchase order creation is highly desirable.
