Job Title: Compensation Analyst
Location: Somerset, NJ
Pay: $40/hour
Assignment Duration: 3-month contract
Job Type: Part-time (3 days per week)

Job Summary:

The Compensation Analyst will play a critical role in the administration, analysis, and execution of our compensation programs. This position is responsible for ensuring that compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and aligned with legal and regulatory standards. The Compensation Analyst will partner closely with HR, Finance, and business leaders to support employee compensation, develop and maintain salary structures, perform market research, and provide data-driven recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage compensation processes including salary reviews, market pricing, and job evaluation.
  • Conduct competitive compensation benchmarking and analysis using survey data and internal analytics.
  • Prepare and maintain compensation structures, pay grades, and incentive plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR in administering compensation-related changes such as promotions and merit increases.
  • Analyze compensation trends and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Respond to compensation-related inquiries and resolve issues regarding pay equity and employee complaints.
  • Participate in compensation audits and prepare reports for management.
  • Support the preparation of compensation-related government filings and reporting (FLSA, EEO-1, etc.).
  • Assist in developing and maintaining compensation policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidential compensation records and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in compensation analysis or compensation administration (mid-to-large size company preferred).
  • Strong proficiency with compensation management systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Highly skilled in MS Excel, Compensation Surveys, and data analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical ability, and quantitative reasoning.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential compensation data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or related HR certification.
  • Experience with benefits administration.
  • Prior exposure to payroll integration and HR/finance support roles.
