Job Title: Accounting Supervisor
Location: Virginia, MN | Onsite
Salary: $68,000–$80,000/year (may be flexible based on experience)

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to lead our office team and oversee financial operations in a dynamic utility environment. This permanent, onsite role offers the opportunity to guide staff, optimize processes, and support strategic financial planning.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and mentor office staff, including Meter Readers, ensuring a productive and collaborative work environment.

  • Oversee financial operations, including payroll processing, reporting, and compliance with policies, safety standards, and regulations.

  • Support budgeting, rate-setting, and financial planning initiatives, providing analysis and reporting to help guide key decisions.

  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with other departments, including customer service, to resolve issues and streamline processes.

  • Train staff on financial systems and software, ensuring accurate and efficient use of technology.

  • Represent the department in initial stages of grievance procedures and other employee matters as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Proven leadership experience and ability to supervise and motivate a team.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and payroll processes.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Effective communicator with a collaborative approach.

  • Proficiency with financial software and computer systems.
