Accounting Manager

Kelly is seeking an Accounting Manager to work with our client, an award-winning privately held healthcare organization, on a direct hire basis! Salary: $95,000-110,000 (plus bonus potential)

Key Responsibilities
General Accounting & Reporting

  • Supervise month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare financial statements and management reports
  • Maintain general ledger and ensure timely journal entries
Revenue Recognition
  • Revenue Recognition calculation across multiple service lines and departments
  • Collaborate with billing and revenue cycle teams to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Analyze trends and variances in revenue and provide actionable insights
Audit/Tax Support
  • Assist in preparing documentation and schedules for internal and external audits and tax compliance team
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
  • Coordinate with auditors and respond to audit inquiries
Team Leadership
  • Supervise and mentor Accounting & Payroll staff
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion of responsibilities
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment
Payroll Management
  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing for clinical and administrative staff completed by Payroll staff
  • Calculate collections & commissions bonuses
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Collaborate with HR to maintain accurate employee records and resolve payroll discrepancies
Treasury Management
  • Oversee daily banking activities/tasks completed by Senior Accountant
  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions
  • Oversee and manage short-term investments
  • Assist with transition of new banking relationship
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • Healthcare and revenue recognition experience strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of healthcare financial operations
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, time management and ability to meet deadlines a must
  • Attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to abide by ethical guidelines and policies, including strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines
  • Understanding of business principles and practices
  • Familiarity with financial and tax regulations
  • Willingness to continue education and training relevant to the role
