Join our dedicated team as an Access Specialist, where you will play a vital role in providing a warm and welcoming experience to individuals seeking assistance through the Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan (PIHP) access system. In this fully remote position, you will engage with the public, offering information, conducting clinical screenings, and making referrals for substance use and behavioral health services. Your expertise in the American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria will be instrumental in delivering sound clinical decision-making to support diverse needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the community while working flexible hours on the 2nd shift.

- Location: Remote in the state of Michigan
- Shift: 2nd shift, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM


Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate assistance to individuals accessing substance use and behavioral health services.
- Conduct clinical screenings and make appropriate level of care recommendations.
- Monitor adherence to established regional policies and procedures among contracted providers.
- Collaborate with Community Mental Health Service Programs (CMHSP), Substance Use Disorder Service Providers (SUDSP), and community referral partners.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures while fulfilling the mission of the PIHP.


Qualifications & Skills:
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, professional counseling, nursing, or a related field.
- Appropriate licensure in good standing in the State of Michigan
- Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) credential, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in substance use disorder (SUD) or co-occurring behavioral health service delivery.
- Knowledge of evidence-based standards of care and protocols for behavioral health and SUD.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use a personal computer for administrative tasks.
