The Coordinator is a Registered Nurse with recognized leadership abilities and sound clinical skills who will actively assist the Director and/or Manager in coordinating the day-to-day activities of the unit. The Coordinator takes a leading role in activities such as nursing performance improvement, job performance evaluations, staffing, scheduling and working with the directors in the orientation and training of new employees
The Nurse Clinical Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who provides professional support, planning, coordinating, and facilitating of patient care for this multispecialty practice. This position will ensure compliance with provider orders and established policies and procedures. This RN will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and coordination of a wide variety of patient care services. Responsibilities include coordinating patient communication, patient education, preparing patients and/or caregivers for procedures, identifying opportunities to improve patient care services, and assisting clinic management with day to day operations and to identify and develop operational needs.
Essential Duties:
- The practice of the Nurse Clinical Coordinator is to serve as a resource in supporting the clinical practice of the staff RN, to provide direction for unit assistive personnel and health care team members in managing the condition of the patient, and to actively assist the Nurse Manager and Director in coordinating the day-to-day activities.

- Adheres to governing regulations such as hospital policies, Title 22 and JCAHO.

- Supports continuous and ongoing customer satisfaction through the hospital wide service excellence standards.
- Responsible for obtaining outside records and coordinating pre-op testing, scheduling, and follow up care
- Positive patient advocate and change agent.
- Coordinates and integrates department services on an intradepartmental, interdepartmental, as well as, hospital wide level.
- Facilitates the development of comprehensive plan of care, coordinates services, provides patient and family education and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
- Utilizes policies and procedures to support the RN's scope of practice.
- Establishes and maintains performance improvement and quality control activities to support the department, as well as, the hospital.
- Coordinates the urgent clinical care of patients during clinic visit, as per provider or clinical staff request, with assessment for Evaluation and Treatment Center admission, if needed.
- Medication refills are managed and triaged, in collaboration with clinical coordinators, within 24 hours, on business days.
- Orients, trains, and instructs other clinic personnel.
- Monitors space/resource requirements and utilizes outside resources.
- Competent in performing all staff duties in clinical area.
- Serve as a resource to the Nurse Manager to provide coverage, help maintain certifications and Kronos timekeeping.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Req Bachelor's Degree Nursing Degree in Nursing
- Req 2 years Two (2) years experience as an RN in an acute care setting required
- Req Organization/time management skills.
- Req Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pref Master's degree Nursing Master's Degree in Nursing or in progress, strongly preferred *Master's Degree in Nursing may be in lieu-of Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Pref 1 year Relief charge experience.
- Pref 1 year At least one (1) year of relief charge experienced preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Req Registered Nurse - RN (CA DCA)
- Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
Req Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
The hourly rate range for this position is $53.00 - $87.45.
