Team Lead Bookkeeping Support REMOTE (Seasonal)

Remote | Full Time | $30/hour + Incentives/Bonus Potential | 401K + Match

You must be an actively credentialed, U.S. based bookkeeper with an active ProAdvisor Certification (Level 1 required, Level 2 preferred or willingness to pursue.

JDA TSG's Bookkeeping Division is hiring Lead Bookkeepers. If you are looking for a remote seasonal role and have prior experience coaching or mentoring bookkeepers in a remote environment, we would love to speak with you about joining our team! To be considered, candidates must currently reside in the United States and have permanent work authorization in the U.S. (we are unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time).

On a Typical Day, you will:  

Technical Bookkeeping Expertise (Lead Role Activities)
  • Oversee and guide the bookkeeping team in executing advanced QuickBooks Online (QBO) functions, ensuring accurate and efficient resolution of complex client issues, including payroll.
  • Supervise and review team workflows for bank reconciliations, chart of accounts management, journal entries, payroll processing, and financial reporting to maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate and support the onboarding of new clients, ensuring the team adheres to defined scopes of service and best practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ProAdvisor Certification Level 1 content, providing leadership and support as team members work toward achieving Level 2.
  • Troubleshoot escalated technical issues and provide strategic guidance to team members, fostering continuous improvement in technical proficiency.
  • Monitor and uphold quality benchmarks in all bookkeeping activities, ensuring consistency and excellence across the team.

Coaching & Support
  • Coach and mentor new bookkeepers through one-on-one sessions and live, side-by-side support.
  • Identify learning gaps using strong listening and communication skills.
  • Deliver constructive feedback in line with adult learning principles.
  • Foster development of soft skills such as tone, empathy, confidence, and de-escalation.

Quality Assurance & Performance
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews on calls, tickets, and bookkeeping work using QBL standards.
  • Apply quality scoring rubrics and participate in calibration sessions.
  • Recognize performance patterns and recommend targeted training.
  • Document coaching sessions and escalate performance concerns as needed.

Operational & Leadership Support
  • Organize and prioritize incoming questions and coaching needs efficiently.
  • Support Operations Managers with reporting and workflow updates.
  • Influence and model high performance, even without direct authority.
  • Participate in pilot programs or projects to improve team efficiency and morale.

Resource Navigation & Knowledge Sharing
  • Navigate and utilize internal knowledge bases, QuickBooks Help, and support documentation.
  • Encourage independent problem-solving by modeling “ask me questions” behavior.
  • Create and maintain bookmarks, quick tips, and team resource hubs.
  • Proactively share updates, changes, and clarifications with the team.

Communication & Collaboration
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally.
  • Lead small huddles, team meetings, or chat discussions as needed.
  • Bridge communication between Operations Managers and bookkeepers.
  • Demonstrate calm, diplomacy, and encouragement during high-stress situations.

Agile Mindset & Continuous Improvement
  • Embrace feedback and drive improvements in team processes.
  • Adapt to frequent changes in tools, policies, and scripts.
  • Suggest enhancements to training or resource delivery.
  • Demonstrate resilience and help others navigate change.

What you bring to the role: 
  • 3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience, with advanced QuickBooks Online proficiency.
  • ProAdvisor Certification Level 1 required; Level 2 preferred or willingness to pursue.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching or mentoring others in a remote environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with quality assurance, performance management, and process improvement.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and lead by example.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to navigate computer systems and software including QuickBooks, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel), Slack, and timekeeping solutions.
  • A dedicated workspace with a hard-wired Ethernet connection and personal computer for administrative responsibilities (No Satellite or Wi-Fi providers).

  • Flexibility! Work morning through evening hours—shifts staffed 5 days per week.
  • Earn $30 per hour (W2), plus benefits including 401K with a match, perks, and other incentives.
  • Work from October through the end of April 2026, averaging 25–40 hours a week; additional/overtime hours may be available.
