IOWA SELECT FARMS JOB DESCRIPTION 

TITLE: Supply Deliver Driver & Warehouse Assistant                                                  

REPORTS TO: Director of Supply Chain

LAST REVISION DATE: 5.25.22

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION: 

Responsible for the loading, packing, pick-up and delivery of farm site supply orders to Iowa Select Farms' facilities in a timely and economical fashion while adhering to strict biosecurity policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area.
  • Greet and assist customers to answer questions and help with problem solving
  • Assist with cycle counts of physical inventory
  • Drive vans, trucks and/or passenger vehicles handling warehouse materials.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Ensure that all orders for following day deliveries are complete and ready for delivery.
  • Pull orders not ready for delivery from warehoused inventory.
  • Demeanor is expected to be always positive and professional while being helpful, friendly and respectful to team members and management personal. 
  • Daily focus should be on success of the company, not personal issues.
  • Be at work on scheduled days and ready to work by given start time as attendance is critical to the success of this position. 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities for this position.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position will be performed indoors along with being exposed to performing some tasks outside in weather condition. 
  • The noise level in the work environment and job sites may be loud.
  • This role uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

 

PHYSICALITY REQUIREMENTS

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.  
  • The employee must be able to continuously repeat necessary movements such as bending, lifting, staying on hard surfaces for long periods of time and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.    
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  
  • Ability to climb in and out of livestock trailers or supply trucks that can be as short as 48 inches in height
  • Ability to drive a vehicle for prolonged periods of time.

 

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • This is a full-time position with the expected days of Monday-Friday
  • Additional availability and flexibility may be required during staffing challenges 

 

TRAVEL

  • Regular travel to Iowa Select Farms facilities will be required for this position which entails the utilization of a company vehicle.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

 

LANGUAGE: 

  • Bi-lingual is not required
