PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- Schedule and dispatch livestock loads adhering to bio-security regulations at all times to ensure maximum health of company and animals.
- Manage and monitor ISF Drivers, Owner Operators, and contractors adhering to company performance expectations, DOT regulations, and customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to ISF bio-security policy at all times and report to management team any violation.
- Adhere to ISF animal wellbeing policy at all times and know reporting procedures when incident occurs.
- Adhere to ISF safety policies and procedures and wear appropriate safety equipment (PPE) for appropriate tasks and work in a safe manner.
- Dispatcher will take Dispatch phone calls trouble shooting and provide solutions to farm personnel and drivers.
- Assign loads to drivers using Windows Based proprietary scheduling systems.
- Ensure daily schedules meet customer expectations for delivery.
- Track all driver performance/attendance according to ISF expectations using tools and technology both paper and computer based.
- Counsel and train drivers based on performance tracking measures
- Effectively communicate with all drivers, farms, and customers representing Iowa Select Farms in a professional manner at all times.
- Responsible for ensuring Biosecurity, Animal Well-being, and Iowa Select Protocols are followed by CDL and Gooseneck drivers.
- Understand and implement changes in Marketing, Inner Sanctum and Wean scheduling as needed.
- Ensure effective communication with dispatch leadership, as well as farm management regarding changes or concerns daily.
- Solve problems as they arise based on the expectations of the transportation office, ISF and its partners.
- All other activities as assigned by supervisor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position is performed indoors.
- This job operates in an office that is climate controlled and includes hazards typical to that environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
PHYSICALITY REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- The employee must have the ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a full-time position that will typically require at least 40 hours a week.
- Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges.
- Occasional evening hours and weekend work may be required as the job duties demand.
- Rotating weekends on call are required based on business needs.
TRAVEL
- No travel is required for this position.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual not required .
- Valid drivers license required
- Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience
- 1 year experience in scheduling and/ or dispatching transport vehicles is preferred.
- 2 years experience supervising others
- 2 years Microsoft office. Including Excel and Word.
- Experience with DOT regulations preferred but not required.
