Purpose of Position:

• To obtain a Class A CDL through Iowa Select Farms CDL Trainee program, which encompasses a combination of classwork, exam preparation, on-the-road training and animal handling experience to gain the skillset needed to be a successful, long-term employee for Iowa Select Farms. 

Job Details:

• Transport pigs within our production system while strictly following animal wellbeing, biosecurity and safety protocols
• Maintain health of our pigs during transportation
• Maintain transportation log reports daily
• Gate incoming pigs into the trailer as well as unloading pigs from the trailer

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be in commutable distance to Iowa Falls, Shannon City or Thayer IA
• Have a clean driving record and valid driver's license
• Ability to pass DOT required phyiscal and drug test
• Trained and licensed candidates must retain employment with Iowa Select Farms for 18 months after receiving their Class A CDL license.

Benefits/Position Details:

• All costs associated with the license will be covered by Iowa Select Farms which includes all formal training, on-the-road experience, exam preparation and scheduling
• Competitive hourly pay of $21/hr will start at the beginning of the program and increase to $26/hr once Class A CDL exam is passed 
• Two bonuses will be paid throughout the program - one when the permit test is passed and the other when the CDL license is obtained
• Participants are eligible to enroll in our different benefit programs upon starting employment
