PSI, an Intertek Company, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification) Services, is looking for a Staff Geologist/Engineer to join our Building and Construction team in Orlando, FL.

The Building & Construction team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services and building science solutions to deliver Total Quality Assurance to the built environment. The team offers the architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry with a full suite of capabilities both in the lab and on site.

 

 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs Phase I and II ESAs including field work and report writing
  • Communicates effectively with senior staff and Manager
  • Works on one or multiple projects at a time
  • May perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests
  • May work both in the field and office
  • Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work


Qualifications

Essential Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited engineering /ABET school
  • Geology or Environmental Engineering Degree preferred, but Science degree acceptable
  • 1-5 Years' Experience
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication
  • Must be computer literate and able to operate most field/office equipment relating to one's discipline.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Ability to work off shifts and overtime
  • May travel up to 20% of time

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
  • Ability to climb occasionally
