Regional Operations Manager

What are we looking for?

The Regional Operations Manager takes a technical role and has overall responsibility for the technical operations and the provision of the resources needed to ensure the required quality of inspection operations. The Regional Operations Manager shall maintain and improve the inspection technical operation efficient in a cost‐effective manner, ensure resources such as manpower, training, equipment, workflow is available to create a sustainable inspection operation regionally. The Regional Operations Manager will be required to visit other Intertek Lab Facilities that are managed within the Caleb Brett Business Line. 

Shift/Schedule:   8 am to 5 pm CDT, Daily, Mon Thru Fri with occasional overtime

 What you'll do:

  • Operational Efficiency: Streamline workflows, improve resource allocation, and enhance productivity across all regional operations.
  • Overtime Management: Analyze current overtime trends, identify root causes, and implement strategies to minimize excessive overtime while maintaining operational effectiveness.
  • Training Field Personnel: Develop and implement an inspector training center to ensure field personnel are equipped with the skills and knowledge to perform efficiently and effectively.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate actionable insights to improve overall efficiency.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with branch managers, supervisors, and staff to ensure alignment with operational goals.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices and cost-saving measures across all operational areas.
  • Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Customer Service: Follow‐up rapidly, all reports of workplace issues. Determines legitimacy of complaints and follow‐up on all legitimate complaints.
  • Seek new business.
  • Be a positive company representative to clients.
  • Carry out all responsibilities in a supportive manner with adherence to the Company's Safety Policy and procedures, Quality Management System, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Sound knowledge of API MPMS inspection procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in inspection operating systems.
  • Protocol, procedure and safety oriented.
  • Ability to interact with customers of various backgrounds.
  • Ability to develop high achieving teams and interface well with other Intertek departments.
  • Understand and analyze the data generated by operational KPI's.

  • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
  • Ability to work in fast‐paced, multi‐tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
  • Must be detailed‐oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 10 years of P&L experience in an inspection company, and knowledge of basic contract do's and don'ts.
  • Previous experience as a member of the API MPMS Committee either as a voting member or volunteering on a work group.
