The Decision Support Manager will develop and assist with the strategic efforts around M&A, capital markets, special projects, organic growth opportunities and business development.  In this role, you'll be responsible for the financial integrity and timeliness of the M&A, capital structure and equity returns analysis.  You'll partner closely with internal leadership from departments such as Finance, Accounting, and Corporate Development to support analysis around deal sourcing while managing external relationships.  Leverage your expertise to execute on new investment opportunities, partnerships/alliances, acquisitions, mergers, spin-offs and joint ventures.

 

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Perform market research to identify operational and strategic metrics and benchmarks used by organizations similar to our Clients
  • Assess Client-representative information such as enterprise architecture artifacts, standard operating procedures, management reports, charters, etc., in order to help identify quantitative aspects of the Client organization and their mission
  • Support the identification and capture of automated and semi-automated signal collections (data as well as metadata) in order to quantify automation-enabled aspects of the Client organization and their mission execution
  • Develop and update models that support the structured analysis of the client organization and their mission execution
  • Support the management of collected content – whether structured, semi-structured, or unstructured – to maintain its context and integrity
  • Assist with the structuring of analysis outputs to support their consumption for dashboards, reports, and presentations
  • Support the engagement with internal as well as external stakeholders to improve their understanding of the data requirements and analysis outputs, and to support the continual improvement for how best to utilize the data and processes
  • Perform analysis of inputs to and outputs from the analytical and reporting processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, understandability, and effectiveness of the data and processes
  • Support the determination of data collection requirements to support on-going performance monitoring and performance decision support
  • Perform research and implementation of tools for managing collected content, including the identification of new tool functionality, tool integrations, tool operations, and tool hosting
  • Help prepare and participate in presentations to client senior leadership and senior management roles to help educate and inform them and to gain their consensus
  • Conduct financial due diligence on potential targets
  • Partner with and drive cross-functional teams in all phases of M&A execution including business case creation, financial modeling, and integration

 

You should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Economics
  • Minimum of five years of experience in investment banking, corporate development or similar transactional work
  • Competence in use of current business tools, and experienced providing training and support to less-skilled users
  • Strong task management skills to ensure successful prioritization and completion of assignments
  • Experience with development and application of metrics related to organization operations performance and decision-making
  • Experience working with IT staff to understand data limitations, develop custom reports, and validate data used across the organization
  • Proven analytical skills to identify opportunities for financial and operational improvement through data analysis and interpretation
  • Experience with knowledge-based work processes as found in DoD Program Offices and Headquarters organizations, and their relation to enterprise financial, contracting, and management information systems
  • Experience connecting content – whether structured, semi-structured, or unstructured – found in MS SharePoint type environments with analysis and visualization tools
  • Experience connecting content – whether structured, semi-structured, or unstructured – found in enterprise data management type environments with analysis and visualization tools
  • Experience creating and applying metadata to enrich the context of managed and compiled content
  • Passion about excellence, data quality and integrity; with the ability to drive process improvement of data-related issues
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively at all levels, internally and externally
  • Strong attention to detail
  • This role is subject to EAR/ITAR and candidates must be US Persons (US Citizens, Permanent Residents, Asylees, Refugees)

 

It would be nice if you had:

  • MBA or advanced degree in relevant field
  • Relevant certifications (i.e. CPA, CFA, etc.)
  • Experience deploying and/or operating a decision support platform
  • Consulting, investment banking or equivalent corporate finance/development experience with M&A or strategy exposure
