Description

* Contribute to the overall customer satisfaction on an operational level by arranging transportation of orders/products from Distribution Centers, outside rework vendors, and customers with the Shipping Supervisor and schedule required equipment for these moves. • Coordinate and prepare documentation of export shipment with the Export Department. Ensure all correct data is on the bill of lading to cover all legal aspects as well as shipper / carrier responsibilities and customer specific requests. • Trace shipments and obtain proof of delivery information as requested by Customer Service. • Coordinate and expedite "same day" messenger shipments and determine best method for shipment. Call all carriers that are not scheduled for daily pickups and coordinate customer pickups. • Update and coordinate with Customer Service all customer transportation information in the customer master file. • Investigate and resolve carrier discrepancy reports and communicate with customer service. Resolve expediently all issues concerning overages, shortages and damages. Interface with Distribution Logistics Management to resolve shipping errors and to assure corrective action is established. • Coordinate with Customer Service and warehouse management to ensure that the activities of the Traffic Department are accomplished with the highest degree of effectiveness and efficiency, and are also compliant with Local, State, and Federal agencies. • Influence and educate by coordinating with other departments with freight decisions, i.e., customer service, warehouses and inventory planning departments to make the most effective freight decisions (lowest costs at the highest service levels). • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed. • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate. • Other duties as assigned. * Hourly Payrate: $ 23.00 plus $2.00 shift differential #IND123 High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education • Associates' degree in Logistics, Supply Chain management, Business Administration, or equivalent field preferred • Minimum three years' experience in Physical Logistics or five years' experience in order processing, billing, inventory control or related field, required. • SAP, PKMS or a warehouse management system, Golden, logistics/transportation, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Inventory Control processes, and Microsoft professional business programs. • Possess good technical logistics and leadership skills necessary to accomplish his/her responsibilities to a high degree of effectiveness. • Good product and customer base knowledge is required. • Ability to recognize problems and quickly respond to determine a resolution at the root cause. • Must have thorough knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT), International Air Transportation Association (IATA), and Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Materials Shipping Regulations. • Must possess good interpersonal skills. • Must know FEDEX, UPS, Air Freight, Warehouse Management System, (PKMS preferred), SAP, and other shipper systems. • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
