ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Maintenance Technician position requires a skilled maintenance technician to inspect, troubleshoot and repair a variety of conveyor systems, Packaging Equipment, and -Laser Guided Vehicles, also known as AVG-Automated Guided Vehicles. An in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting and repairs is required. Will follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed. In addition, the candidate will observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Regular inspection, troubleshooting and repairs of electrical and mechanical production equipment throughout the facility
- Detecting malfunctions and defects in electrical and mechanical systems on all automation equipment
- Ensuring the compliance of all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while conducting work functions
- Maintaining a record of service cycles and other maintenance activities conducted
- Efficiently managing time and completing all tasks assigned by the supervisory authority
- Reporting damages, defects and other issues pertaining to electrical and mechanical units to the supervising manager
- Documenting spare and replacement parts required and completing all necessary documentation for the same
- Appropriately using and handling all electrical repair and testing tools and equipment
- Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed
- Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Schedule: FHD: Sunday-Wednesday 5:30AM - 4:00PM (10 hours) or BHD: Wednesday-Saturday 5:30am - 4:00pm (10 hours)
Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Status: Non-Exempt
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3+ years' experience in-depth electrical and mechanical experience
- Proficient in working with voltages from 24 volts to 480 volts, (Single, and three phase)
- AVG (Automated Guided Vehicle) or LVG (Laser Guided Vehicle) experience
- Knowledge of working with HMI's
- Ability to work independently
- Proficient in Preventative Maintenance tasks and services
- Automation experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines
- Sound understanding of using all electrical testing equipment
- Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Should follow oral or written instructions
- Team mindset
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
- High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, extend, reach, and twist for long periods of time
