We are seeking a#professional to oversee point of care testing in all defined areas of the laboratory, hospital and designated outpatient practices.# Duties include but are not limited to: Primary responsibility for oversight of POC testing. Performs oversight of laboratory testing performed outside the laboratory (e.g. testing performed in the hospitals# clinical areas and clinics) Ensures that all waived and moderately complex POC testing complies with CLIA, DNV and CAP regulatory standards. Provides technical consultation and standardizes laboratory policies and procedures for use by clinical staff. Oversees and assists training and orientation of clinical staff to laboratory methods as well as ongoing verification of operator competency and continuing compliance with regulatory standards. Oversees proficiency testing is performed by clinical staff. Evaluates and writes new procedures applicable to point of care and clinic setting. Gathers data, evaluates, and prepares analysis and recommendations related to point of care programs. Supports compliance and maintains the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization. Acts with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to the applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licensing requirements (if applicable), and the hospitals# policies and procedures. Assists in method selection and performs test validation processes including,#but not limited to, comparative studies with central laboratory tests assays, and precision and accuracy. Writes operating procedures to ensure adherence to manufacturer#s specifications, adherence to regulatory requirements and hospital and lab critical value criteria. Develops standardized training and competency documents for end-users in compliance with the accrediting agencies. Oversees and assists in training primary end#users. REQUIREMENTS:## Education: Bachelor#s Degree in Medical Technology or related biological science Licenses/Certifications: ASCP or AMT Certification as an MT or MLS Experience: Three years of recent experience in a clinical laboratory Applicants must have: The ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be responsible for meeting or exceeding deadlines independently.# A passion for caring about a community through quality work in a stand-alone hospital lab. A drive for learning new practices to be able to adapt to our rapidly growing test menu. A willingness to offer new ideas to the team to help with our culture of continuous improvement.
