Holyoke Medical Center is searching for an Emergency Medicine physician to#evaluate and treat patients in the Emergency Department. The#Physician will collaborate with other disciplines and services to provide high quality emergency care to patients presenting to the department, and will also participate in the hospital#s quality improvement activities and utilization management activities. Responsibilities include: To work with case management resources for effective and safe discharge planning. To provide appropriate supervision and review of services rendered by physicians and other non-physicians involved in direct care of patients on service. To utilize effective communications with patients and all members of the Emergency Department team taking care of the patient. To provide excellent coordination of care upon discharge of patient back to the primary care physician.# To ensure that consultations to sub-specialists are utilized appropriately and in a timely manner in order to optimize patient care.# REQUIREMENTS:#Graduate of an accredited school of medicine and successful completion of an internal medicine residency program or other primary care specialty; current license from the Mass. Board of Registration in Medicine; current DEA License; current license from the Mass. Dept. of Public Health for a controlled substance license; Board certified or Board eligible in clinical specialty; ACLS certification#
