Hobby Lobby is searching for a talented, innovative, and driven BI Developer with a minimum 2 years of experience in completing Business Intelligence design and development projects.
Primary Functions/Job Description
- Develop business intelligence solutions to satisfy immediate and long-term priorities with solutions ranging from traditional reporting to more modern, interactive reporting solutions.
- Work on business intelligence projects in coordination with multiple team members with different abilities and skills.
- Work directly with business leaders to get beyond the initial “ask” to understand the underlying business needs, critical path, and timeline surrounding key goals.
- Communicate effectively with business partners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with project managers and development teams to implement analytical solutions in coordination with custom application development.
- Utilize Kimball's methodology to implement data models to support static reports, interactive reports, and self-service analysis.
- Effectively use SQL development skills, SSRS reports, SSAS Tabular Models, and Power BI Visuals to implement business intelligence solutions.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- One of the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field.
- Proven experience working in an IT environment.
- 2 years post-college experience in data analytics and/or data science.
- Basic knowledge of dimensional data modeling techniques.
- Advanced SQL development skills.
- Basic understanding of developing tabular models for SSAS.
- Strong understanding of developing reports using both SSRS and Power BI.
- Basic understanding in the use of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) in Power BI.
- Ability to facilitate Business Intelligence projects from concept to realization with guidance.
- Must have experience working directly with business leaders to understand objectives and gather requirements.
- Must be a motivated self-starter who can work independently and also seeks out opportunities to work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to manage concurrent projects at different stages of completion.
