The Sr. Data Scientist, Retail Ops leads the decision analytics, in AI/ML, predictive modeling initiatives for retail operations with the mission for business impact. A thought leader in the analytical decision space, the role is responsible for leading cross-functional teams of data scientist, data engineer and business stakeholders to deliver impactful data and analytical products to the Retail Operations organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete ownership of modeling lifecycle from problem statement, modeling to implementation.  
• Lead scoping sessions with business stakeholders and make recommendations to the business using analytics  
• Partner with Business and Technology leaders inside and outside the department on strategic and operational initiatives and guide the organization on analytical upside and scaling             
• Analytical Leader and point person for business and internal team in structuring analytical problems    
• Lead and develop, AI/ML MVP and production products (Models, Decision tools) for our field executive personas.
• Mentor & guide data scientist on best-practices, methodologies and modeling techniques.
• Develop deep understanding of business problems and find optimal build/buy decision framework for problems          
• Model Measurement and Business impact of analytical bets      
• Influence and evangelize organization on analytical opportunities and AI industry trends.         
• Own & manage multiple cross-functional projects often concurrently.          
• Build complex Tableau BI dashboards and visualizations suited for business stakeholders  
• Own the creation of optimal user experience and analytical utility of the data visualization ecosystem

• Master's degree in computer science, Math, or Statistics a plus

• Minimum seven years' experience in a related position or field
  • Retail/ Business Intelligence experience a plus
  • Strong Technical skills in Python, Generative AI, SQL, & ML platforms.
  • GCP/Databricks or similar cloud data platform expertise must.

• Tableau & BI Ecosystem

• Demonstrated ability to develop complex models in AI/ML framework
• Ability to deal with ambiguity with a creative and experimental mindset.
• Strong ownership and influence ability in the overall lifecycle of model development and analytics
• Ability to manage portfolio and priorities effectively across different store operations personas.
• A customer-centric mindset eager to solve business problems for scale and impact.
• An expert data scientist with strong communication skills.
• Deep understanding of predictive models and AI/ML Retail specific methodologies
• Mentor and educate data team members and business leaders.
• Ability to work independently and with team members from different backgrounds & technical acumen

• An expert in data visualization and business intelligence.
