Description

Under the direct supervision of the Distribution Center Learning and Development Manager and limited direction from the Senior Manager of Learning and Development, perform duties to develop, deliver and evaluate Training and HRD programs within the assigned distribution center.  Provides leadership to determine key indicators of high performance for any functional area within the Distribution Center, track and develop learning curves for performance and design interventions to reach maximum business results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop training programs to deliver a wide variety of technical and non-technical skills to all levels of the Distribution Centers.
  • Build key partnerships with site management to plan and execute hiring and training strategies to meet business needs.
  • Consult, using models and tools, to determine performance improvement opportunities in various departments.
  • Collaboratively design key indicators of performance and develop a process for measuring competency against those indicators with site management.
  • Recommend training and development plans which match learning curves and are aligned to business objectives.
  • Facilitate classroom training and lead department meetings.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with the Learning and Development team to develop effective training initiatives using our instructional design methodologies to design and deliver training that is consistent across the organization. 
  • Demonstrate effective stand-up presentation, group facilitation and adult learning techniques in program delivery.
  • Determine training needs and develop programs for new areas as requested by department managers.
  • Assist in the interviewing, selection, and development of functional trainers.
  • Create site training schedules, including the assignment of trainers and rooms for each class.  Works closely with line management to maximize available training hours and eliminate scheduling conflicts.

  • Decision Making – Creates training policy and insures compliance of Standard Operating Procedures and Safety practices.  Documents and makes decisions determining if employees meet the job skills and abilities to be successful in the positions they are assigned.  Using a needs analysis they are responsible for identifying training priorities and implementing training programs that aligned to key business metrics.  Solely responsible for managing the Talent Management program within the distribution centers.

Requirements

Job Qualifications – Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Learning and Development, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience Level & Type – 5+ years' experience in Warehouse/Distribution Management and/or Training preferred.
Job Qualifications – Skills
  • Special skills needed – Instructional Systems Design, Training Development, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Specific Systems – LMS and Warehouse Management Systems preferred
Physical Requirements
General office environment requiring ability to:
  • stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time
  • effective verbal and written communications
  • use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
  • lift up to 50 lbs.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $71,800 – $107,700 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 200 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
