Director of Education

Summary: The Director of Education ensures that the education program provides a personalized and effective mastery learning program to every student, teachers are trained and developed in the Fusion approach, and student outcomes are demonstrated clearly with measurable success.

Salary range: $68,000 - $75,000 / year USD

Role Description

Your Day to Day:

Hire and train teachers and Department Heads to ensure alignment with Fusion's culture, mission and approach.

Provide ongoing professional development to foster continuous improvement related to student outcomes.

Oversee Department Heads to ensure effective collaboration, communication, and implementation of strategic initiatives.

Manage the evaluation of the education program assessment data and School Quality metrics to ensure effective classroom and operational practices.

Enhance teaching effectiveness by conducting classroom observations and coaching sessions.

Oversee teacher performance to ensure student success.

Ensure course integrity and student outcomes through the file check and course closure process.

Contribute to the enrollment process by ensuring appropriate course placement through assessment data, performance, goals, and recommendations.

Ensure teachers are equipped with necessary classroom resources.

Contribute to enrollment growth and retention by cultivating academic excellence, establishing strong community connections, and creating a positive experience for all stakeholders.

Communicate with parents to follow up on students' individual learning programs.

Inspire staff through exemplary leadership practices grounded in academic expertise, integrity, and commitment to excellence.

Carry out day to day operational duties as necessary in coordination with the head of school.

What You Will Own:

Oversee all matters involving the education program.

Hire, train, and develop teachers.

Create the Annual Professional Development Plan.

Manage the Department Heads.

Ensure utility of educational assessments.

Manage the observations and coaching process for teachers.

Participate in organization-wide collaboration and development.

Manage the student goal-setting process and service recommendations.

Manage checks on curriculum documentation through file check and course closure process.

Ensure teachers have classroom resources.

Manage School Quality results and metrics.

Manage the IEP process when necessary.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field. Master's degree strongly preferred.

At least 3 years of teaching.

School administration experience strongly preferred.

Experience managing people including hiring, training, developing.

Ability to learn multiple data and curriculum management platforms

Experience working with students impacted by learning differences and/or mental health challenges.

Passionate about personalized and holistic education, and excited by alternative educational approaches.

Exhibits a unique and fun personality to support a vibrant student culture.

Demonstrates high emotional intelligence and ability to relate well to others.

Experience developing a teaching staff, and monitoring and enhancing an academic program.

Possesses strong time management and organizational skills.
