Position Summary: 
Assists and advise staff in our Trussville AL location, remote locations, and production facilities with technical support of desktop computers, manufacturing hardware, systems, applications, and related technology. Works with Internal SME's and Vendors to address unique issues that can only be resolved through custom developed solutions.  Support includes the ability to work independently on specifications, installation and testing of computer systems, peripherals, and IT manufacturing systems within established guidelines and work directly with internal SME's and Vendors to obtain positive outcomes. Assist in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment. Provides friendly and effective internal customer support for a variety of IT related issues ranging from moderate to advanced desktop troubleshooting through Data Center maintenance and Manufacturing Facility support.  Requires a focus on customer service and making sure all customers have the proper IT tools and support to accomplish their work.  
 
Position Responsibilities: 
·       Assist staff with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, manufacturing systems and software. 
·       Addresses escalations with vendor support contacts and SME's to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software. 
·       Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems. 
·       Works with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software. 
·       Assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases 
·       Order's computer supplies 
·       Maintains telephone system

Works as an intermediary between different support teams to ensure that all IT systems in their area of responsibility meets business SLA's.
 

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required: 
·       Experience in supporting Windows Operating Systems desktop/laptop PCs  
·       Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktop and laptop PCs  
·       Experience installing software, patches, updates on desktops, laptops, and servers  
·       Experience troubleshooting basic network, software, printing problems  
·       Experience in the understanding of general enterprise computing (domains, user accounts, network shares, active directory and other systems).

Position Qualifications: 
Education: 
HS diploma or equivalent 
Certification or some college level training in information technology preferred 
 
Experience:  
5 – 7 years of experience in an elevated information technology support role 
 
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: 
Office/Production Environment 
Ability to sit for long periods of time 
Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time 
Vision abilities required install and maintain computer equipment, and to validate and enter data on computer 
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently
