Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Senior Process Engineer – Critical Repairs located in Guadalajara, North Campus

Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager, this role involves responsibilities for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to support a PCBA manufacturing organization.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Define, implement, and control critical repair processes for electronic assemblies (PCBA) in SMT, ICT, backend, and functional test lines.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis using 8D, RCA, Ishikawa Diagram, Pareto, and Process FMEA.
  • Establish repair criteria and rework limits according to IPC standards and customer requirements.
  • Validate equipment, tools, thermal profiles, and repair methods.
  • Provide technical support to Production, Quality, NPI, and Test during line‑down events or quality escapes.
  • Ensure complete traceability of critical repairs within the manufacturing system.
  • Develop, update, and release work instructions, visual aids, and process documentation.
  • Train, evaluate, and certify repair technicians according to IPC‑7711/7721.
  • Actively participate in internal, customer, and certification audits.
  • Approve or reject critical repairs on in‑process and finished products.
  • Define scrap needs when product reliability—electrical or mechanical—is compromised.
  • Stop production flow when quality risks or non‑compliance to standards are detected.
  • Approve temporary process deviations in conjunction with the Quality team.

Experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field (degree required).
  • 3–8 years in electronic manufacturing processes, with a focus on critical repair or process engineering.
  • SMT and PHT processes.
  • Creation of profiling cards.
  • Creation and interpretation of repair profiles and temperature curves.
  • Operation and maintenance of rework equipment such as SRT, mini‑wave, AIR‑VAC, soldering stations, among others.
  • Advanced PCBA repair (BGA, QFN, LGA, fine‑pitch components, pads and traces).
  • IPC standards: IPC‑7711/7721, IPC‑A‑610, J‑STD‑033, J‑STD‑020.
  • ESD control in electronic manufacturing environments.
  • Lean, 5W, SPC, PFMEA, flowcharting, and root‑cause analysis.
