Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Senior Industrial Engineer located in Shanghai Jiading.

Reporting to the Head of Technology and Quality the Senior Industrial Engineer role involves…

What a typical day looks like:

  • Measure and maintain product cycle time to continuously improve production efficiency .
  • Provides process time estimation to the quote team.
  • Simulates process, materials and manufacturing workflow and gives input to process engineer by using REFA, MOST, WITNESS and or adequate tools.
  • Be in charge of production line layout and line set-up for new project with lean concept and IE knowledge
  • During NPI coordinates process planning and set up with respect to takt, cycle time and direct labor requirement.
  • Reviews result during prototyping and trial runs and gives feedback to NPI and sales team, work measurement programs and examines work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
  • Examines staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
  • Plan equipment and manpower in advance to meet customer requirements
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocation work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
  • Coordinate and drive cost saving and waste reduction activities
  • Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
  • May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
  • Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
  • Designs or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.
  • Manages and supports initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas like Lean, Kaizen/SGA/IKW , Automation and/or Six Sigma projects.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Engineering, related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as an industrial or process engineer – working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in new plant buildup or plant relocation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD regarding floor layout design and optimization.
  • Be trained about IE 7 tools and be able to identify 8 kinds of waste in the production line.
  • Previous experience with capacity analysis, time studies, Labor costs and reduction,
  • Experience with continuous improvement, including but not limited to leading Kaizens, Small Group Activities and other cross functional, on-site lean events
  • Good English in Oral, to be able to Comfortable communicating with and present to internal and external customer audiences.
