Job SummaryAs SAP Application Administrator you support critical operational processes in Supply Chain, Production, and Plant Maintenance within an automotive manufacturing environment. You provide daily functional support, maintain user roles and authorizations, monitor system stability, and ensure smooth operations on the shop floor and across the supply chain. Your role helps safeguard production continuity, equipment uptime, material availability, and compliance with automotive quality standards.
What a typical day looks like:
- Provide day‑to‑day SAP support for Supply Chain processes including inbound logistics, goods receipt, warehouse operations, outbound shipping, and customer deliveries;
- Assist users with SAP apps related to purchase orders, goods movements, transport units, delivery creation, and warehouse tasks;
- Administer SAP user roles, authorization objects, and catalog/group assignments;
- Manage user access ensuring compliance with segregation-of-duties (SoD);
- Provide 1st- and 2nd-level support to production teams for amongst others work order processing, shop-floor confirmations, backflushing, and BOM/routing visibility;
- Assist with EDI troubleshooting for supplier schedules and customer orders;
- Help troubleshoot issues that stop or delay the production line (missing components, confirmation errors, integration failures);
- Assist with production scheduling issues and capacity-related updates;
- Assist maintenance engineers with Fiori apps and ensure correct use of maintenance workflows;
- Support monitoring of equipment status, breakdown notifications, and planned maintenance tasks;
- Assist with integration between PM, inventory, and production when maintenance work affects operations;
- Process role change requests, onboard new users, and perform periodic access reviews for audit readiness;
- Support testing activities for SAP upgrades, support packs, and new feature rollouts;
- Participate in continuous SAP process improvement initiatives such as optimizing warehouse flows, enhancing production reporting, and improving PM processes;
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining system interfaces to MES, barcode scanners, shop-floor equipment, and EDI platforms;
- Ensure documentation is up to date, including work instructions, training guides, and process flows;
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and support audits. Work closely with Supply Chain planners, warehouse supervisors, production leaders, maintenance teams, and (external) SAP consultants;
- Contribute to improving process consistency and compliance with standards such as IATF 16949;
- Provide feedback on recurring issues and propose improvements using S/4HANA tools and analytics.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA processes in Supply Chain (MM/SD/EWM), Production (PP), Plant Maintenance (PM) and Identity Access Governance (IAG).
- Experience with SAP authorizations, role concepts, and security.
- Understanding of automotive concepts such as JIT/JIS, Kanban, traceability, and EDI
- Affinity with structured testing, change management, and ITIL-based support processes.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a structured working style.
- Excellent communication: fluent in English (Dutch is an advantage).
