General Purpose:

Responsible for a variety of operations and duties on the manufacturing floor. 

Overall Accountabilities:

  • Develops, maintains, and improves production processes within area of responsibility.
  • Reads and completes work orders to stay on schedule with daily goals.
  • Drives production schedules and process related problems to closure.
  • Maintains order throughout the manufacturing floor.
  • Spot checks product to ensure quality levels are maintained.
  • Assists in the compliance of safety regulations and material handling instructions.
  • Communicates any process problems with peers, leads, supervisors, and/or engineers.
  • Fills out necessary paperwork and notifies supervisor about material surpluses, shortages, or damages.
  • Must be able to navigate electronic work instructions using a computer.
  • Participate in Kaizens and meetings when needed.
  • Follows all 5S+1 standards.

Principle Accountabilities for Production Specialist – Production:

Server Assembly

  • Has a knowledge and understanding of Flex assembly processes and requirements.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other.
  • Mounts assembled components to boards or units.
  • Screws, bolts, press fits, or performs similar operations to secure parts in place.

Test Room

  • Receives assembled servers from production lines and stores them until they are ready to be tested.
  • Initiates tests on servers and monitors their status by checking results for pass or fail every hour.  
  • Identifies failed server tests as either a level 1 or level 2 failure.
  • Performs minor corrections and retests for level 1 failures and delivers Level 2 failures to debug area.
  • Installs and securely attaches passed servers into assembled racks.
  • Notifies appropriate test/quality engineer when mass failures occur.

Rack Assembly

      Rack Prep

  • Prepares rack for server insertion by identifying materials needed, based on rack type, and installing them to the interior of the rack.
  • Screws, bolts, press fits, or performs similar operations to secure parts in place.

Labeling

  • Follows work orders to identify the correct cable matrix for each specific rack.
  • Uses printers to label individual cables.
  • Organizes cables into proper bins before and after labels are printed.

Cabling

  • Inspects servers, racks, and cables for damages or errors before configuration.
  • Scans servers into the rack ensuring they follow the same order physically and systematically.
  • Inserts cables into designated slots on the side of the enclosure.

Rack Level Testing

  • Connects rack to test station and initiates' test.
  • Reports failures to supervisor and assists in troubleshooting.
  • Clears rack to be packaged and shipped upon passing test.
