To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Production Planner located in Columbia, SC.
Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, the Production Planner will be In charge of helping materials and production functions. Plans, schedules, coordinates and approves product release to the production planning systems based on material and capacity availability.
What a typical day looks like:
Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer demand while balancing material availability, labor resources, and manufacturing capacity.
Analyze inventory levels, material shortages, safety stock, and demand forecasts to ensure uninterrupted production and optimal inventory performance.
Review and release work orders in the ERP/MRP system, ensuring accurate planning parameters, BOMs, routings, and item master data.
Monitor schedule adherence and production performance; proactively identify and resolve constraints related to materials, capacity, quality, or operational issues.
Partner with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Customer Focus Teams to align production priorities, manage reschedules, and support customer requirements.
Lead production planning activities, including forecast reviews, Master Production Scheduling (MPS), capacity planning, and inventory optimization initiatives.
Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), new product introductions, and product lifecycle changes to minimize supply chain disruptions.
Generate and analyze planning, inventory, and operational KPI reports, driving continuous improvement in service levels, inventory accuracy, and production efficiency.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in production planning, production scheduling, inventory control, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment; experience in the Power Distribution industry is preferred.
Proven expertise in developing and executing production schedules while balancing material availability, labor capacity, and customer demand.
Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including inventory accuracy, cycle counting, safety stock management, and shortage mitigation.
Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems for production planning, inventory control, and order management.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive process improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
