Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Process Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.
Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, Process Engineer role involves responsible for developing, optimizing and controlling electronic manufacturing processes (SMT, PTH, Integration, Polymers), ensuring process stability, product quality and operational efficiency.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develop, validate, and maintain SMT, PTH, Integration, and Polymer processes.
- Lead improvement projects focused on Yield, Defects, Scrap, DPMO, and OEE.
- Analyze process and quality data (SPC, failure trends, Pareto).
- Implement and update PFMEA, Control Plans, and Work Instructions.
- Provide advanced technical support to production for process failure resolution.
- Actively participate in NPI, Transfers, and Ramp-ups. Coordinate pilot runs, basic DOE, and process validations.
- Optimize reflow profiles and wave/selective soldering.
- Work with suppliers on materials, stencils, pallets, and fixtures.
- Ensure compliance with ESD, IPC, and Safety standards.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering in electronics, mechatronics or related.
- Solid experience in SMT: Pick & Place, paste printing, SPI and AOI inspection.
- Soldering: Reflow, Wave, Selective Soldering.
- Electronic Assembly: Box Build, wiring, torquing.
- Polymeric Welding: Underfill, Stacking, Conformal Welding.
- IPC Certification (IPC A 610 / IPC 7711/7721)
- Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt
- Solder and SMT defect analysis.
- PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC
- Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
- Materials knowledge: solder paste, flux, stencils.
- Basic statistical analysis (Minitab)
- Advanced Excel; Power BI desirable
- Intermediate English
- Demonstrates advanced operations, technical and people skills. Demonstrates expert knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of Flex and related business. Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/ processes, industries or functions and understanding of interdependencies of such processes at the site.
