Job Summary

The Logistics Coordinator, based in Kendal, UK, is responsible for providing efficient administrative and operational support to the UK despatch process, as well as supporting import/export activities when required.

The role requires close collaboration with internal teams (Production, Planning, Projects, Procurement, and Sales) and external partners such as clients, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure timely and compliant deliveries.

This role is offered as a fixed-term maternity cover.

What a Typical Day Looks Like:

  • Manage and control all outbound and inbound deliveries
  • Ensure all shipping documentation is accurate (delivery notes, commercial invoices, export documentation, dangerous goods paperwork, load plans)
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers and Production to ensure timely organization of collections and deliveries
  • Arrange and manage transport in a cost-efficient and effective manner
  • Liaise externally with clients to ensure delivery requirements are met
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with logistics suppliers
  • Ensure Purchase Orders are raised correctly and in line with procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries to ensure compliance with customs authorities (including HMRC audit requirements)
  • Follow up on proof of deliveries (PODs) for revenue recognition purposes
  • Prepare weekly/monthly logistics reports including key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Support export and import processes when required

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong numerical and analytical capabilities
  • High level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain structured documentation
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
