Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Hard Tool / Stamping Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Director, Mechanical Engineering, this role focuses on developing and optimizing metal stamping processes to support manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, cost efficiency, and on‑time delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in metal forming, tooling, die maintenance, and high‑tonnage stamping equipment.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve metal stamping processes for new and existing products.
  • Develop technical documentation including process flows, PFMEA, control plans, WI/SOPs, and tooling specifications.
  • Evaluate, select, justify, and implement stamping dies, hard tooling, and capital equipment (presses, feeders, lubrication systems).
  • Lead troubleshooting activities on stamping dies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Work directly with toolmakers, production, quality, and NPI teams during process launch and technology transfer.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of stamping presses ranging from 200 to 600 tons.
  • Support die design reviews using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Pro/E (Creo) and ensure manufacturability of components.
  • Optimize cycle times, scrap reduction, and tooling preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Provide training to operators and technicians during new process introduction or tooling changes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for tooling fabrication, refurbishment, and modifications.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgy, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong hands‑on experience in metal stamping processes in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.
  • Experience working with hard tooling and progressive dies.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Pro/E (Creo)
  • Experience with NPI processes in metal manufacturing.
  • Availability to work 2nd and 3rd shifts.
