Description
Coordinates the planning and implementation of an Infection Prevention Program designed to prevent and control the transmission of infections in the Medical Center. He/she has the authority to institute any surveillance, prevention and control measures or studies when there is reason to believe that a patient or personnel may be at risk. The coordinator works under the guidance of the manager, the Infection Prevention Committee and its chairperson. He/she assumes responsibility for infection prevention and control activities in the absence of the Manager of Infection Prevention.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience with the practices and principles of Infection Prevention
- Demonstrate analytical ability to interpret data/statistics, determine areas for improvement and recommend solutions
- Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with all constituents (including patients, families, physicians, payors, external facilities, other departments, staff)
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
- Master's Degree in Nursing or other Health-Related field preferred.
License, Registration, Certification:
Current NJ State Nursing Licensure required. Certification as CIC preferred.
